There is something very other worldly when it comes to Greystones North Cotswold Outdoor Sessions. This nature reserve is also the site of the Salmonsbury Camp, an important meeting place during Neolithic and Iron Age periods.
We gathered around the fire pit in the cool, thatched roof round house, and decided what we would be doing for the next few hours.
There had been a request to source some hazel for whittling, so we wandered down to the hazel coppice where a suitable stick was found.
Before heading back to the roundhouse, we decided to head further along the path that runs alongside the lake. The path was quite overgrown, however one of the participants managed his wheelchair no problem. We could see the swans and the darkening sky as the rain began to come our way.
It didn’t last long though and we headed back to investigate the pond, with one participant helping with the clearing out of the stuff that shouldn’t be in there. It was a very chill session of whittling, nettle cordage and pond clearing. The rain passed over and the sun even made an appearance/
