On Monday (20th Jan) GYCG Young Leaders Amber and Bowie ran a session with young people and cross-party MP’s/County Councillors from Gloucestershire, to share youth voices on Climate and Nature. This included youth speeches from different groups we collaborate with. Big up to everyone who joined us!🌳📣💻🌼
On Friday (24th Jan) Young Leaders went to Westminster to observe the second reading of ‘The Climate and Nature Bill’ in The Houses of Commons and were featured in the opening speech by Roz Savage MBE the bill’s sponsor (check out the video below!).
After the reading, they met with Dr Roz and Dr Simon Opher (co-sponsor of the bill) to ask questions about how parliamentary procedure works. 🚞 📝👂🌍
Amber said – ‘It was very inspiring to be in a place where such important decisions are made and to hear many of the leaders speaking in favour of the environment’.
